Places We Live - New module from PLT
Upper Elementary and Secondary Environmental Educaiton Program Distance Delivered - 6 weeks

Spring 2008 Classes begin the week of February 25th
This is a new secondary module from Project Learning Tree. PLT teaches with hands on, interdisciplinary activities, and provides opportunities for students to investigate environmental issues and encourages them to make informed, responsible decisions.

All communities – urban, suburban, small town, rural – are experiencing growth and change, which has an impact on each community's environment.

PLT's new module, Exploring Environmental Issues: Places We Live, provides educators with a useful tool for place-based education to help create a bond between young citizens and their communities. Students will explore current and future community environmental issues, enabling them to make informed decisions about those issues.

The workshop is taught in a weekly format using synchronous (Teleconference/web conferencing) and asynchronous (discussion board, email) communication. Technology needed includes telephone, internet, PowerPoint viewer or program, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and email.
